Edit your reels by chatting with Claude

EditorOP works inside Claude as a custom connector. Add https://mcp.editorop.com/mcp, sign in to EditorOP and press Allow. Then ask Claude to make a finished reel up to 90 seconds from your raw talking-head clips, copy a reel you love, change captions, cuts and graphics, and preview frames. Claude shows the credits and asks before any step that spends them. Uploads and the Export button stay in your browser.

What you can do by chatting

Claude plans and directs; EditorOP holds your footage, makes the edit and renders it. Ask in plain words, one change at a time, and Claude reads the reel before it edits.

  • Make a reel from raw clips

    Ask for a reel and Claude starts a project with an upload link. EditorOP picks the best take, cuts pauses, stumbles and filler, and adds captions, B-roll and motion graphics, for a vertical reel up to 90 seconds.

  • Copy a reel you love

    Add a saved Reel, TikTok or Short as a reference. Claude can show you stills from it with what EditorOP measured, and the edit copies its layout, motion and kinds of graphics.

  • Pick a format

    Name one when the edit starts: Talking head, Tier list or Wall of text.

  • Change captions

    Fix a word, rewrite a line, or change the caption style and size.

  • Change cuts

    Hide a footage segment you don’t want, or restore a hidden one. Changes work on whole segments, so a cut lands where a segment starts or ends.

  • Change graphics

    Swap a graphic for another kind, move it, resize it, put it behind you or remove it, or add one at a moment you name. EditorOP fits each one so it never covers your face or the captions.

  • Preview and play

    Ask for up to 6 frames as the export will look. Where Claude shows the EditorOP card, play the reel right in the chat and change it there too.

  • Undo

    Take back Claude’s last edit, as long as nothing changed it since.

Set up

Connect EditorOP to Claude in three steps

  1. Copy the connector URL

    https://mcp.editorop.com/mcp

  2. Add it as a custom connector

    In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors. Click + Add, then Add custom connector, paste the URL and add it.

  3. Sign in and press Allow

    Sign in to EditorOP with Google and press Allow. Then turn EditorOP on in a chat from the + menu, under Connectors.

Menu names follow Anthropic’s steps for custom connectors as of October 2026 and can differ by app version. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector for the organization first, then members click Connect.

Claude asks before it spends credits

Before a paid step, Claude reads its credits and your balance from EditorOP, tells you the number and waits for your yes. Everything else uses no credits, so you can change the reel as many times as you need.

    Claude gives you a link and you upload every take in your browser. Video files never pass through the chat.

  • Uploading a reel to copy

    Save the reel from the app and upload the file through its own link. Links to posts are not fetched.

  • Pressing Export

    Claude gives you the editor link. You press Export at the top right, and the editor shows the credits again before it renders an HD file.

  • Your plan

    Plans and credits live on editorop.com. The connector uses the credits already on your account.

Who it’s for, and when another tool fits better

A good fit when

  • You film talking-head reels and would rather say what to change than drag clips on a timeline.
  • You already work in Claude and want your edits in the same chat as your scripts and ideas.
  • You want a reel edited like one you saved, without rebuilding its style by hand.

Another tool fits better when

  • You want many short clips cut from a long podcast or webinar. A clipping tool such as OpusClip fits that.
  • You need a long or landscape video. EditorOP makes vertical reels up to 90 seconds.

Questions

Can Claude edit my videos with EditorOP?

Yes. With the EditorOP connector, Claude can create a project, start the AI edit, read the reel’s timeline and change its captions, cuts and graphics. EditorOP holds your footage and does the cutting and rendering; Claude directs it from your messages.

Do my video files go through the chat?

No. Claude gives you a link, and you upload your clips, and any reel you want to copy, in your browser. Claude works from what EditorOP reports back: the transcript, the timeline and, when you ask, preview frames.

Which Claude plan do I need?

Anthropic’s help center lists custom connectors on Claude’s Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and a Free account can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds the connector for the organization first. The edit itself uses credits from your EditorOP monthly plan.

When does Claude spend my credits?

Only three steps spend credits: starting the AI edit, preview frames and an export in the cloud. Before each one, Claude reads the number from EditorOP, tells you and waits for your yes. Creating a project, changing captions or graphics and undoing use none.

Can I copy the edit of a reel I love?

Yes. Save the Reel, TikTok or Short from the app as a video file and upload it through the link Claude gives you; links are not fetched. EditorOP copies its layout, motion and kinds of graphics onto your clips.

How do I export the finished reel?

Ask Claude to export and it gives you the editor link with the export credits. Open it and press Export at the top right. The editor shows the credits again before it renders an HD file for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
